Game suggestions with the cards:
The first idea is to play Memory Match. To play this, you should use the two sets of cards for each family.
Another game idea is the following (for this game, you don’t need to use both sets of cards for each family, one set is enough). This game idea is inspired by the classic game from 1964 called Happy Families:
For 2 to 6 players.
Each player receives 7 cards, leaving the remaining pile of cards on the table. The first player starts by asking another player if they have the card they want. If they do, the other player must give it to them, and the player who asked the question continues by asking for another card. If the other player does not have the requested card, they draw one from the pile; if it turns out to be the card they asked for, they continue. If not, it’s the next player’s turn. When a player completes a family, they place it on the table. The player who has the most completed families when the pile runs out wins the game.
If a player does not have a member of a particular family (for example, Japanese), they cannot request a card from that family during that turn.
If a player fails to obtain a character, the next player cannot attempt to get those cards in that turn.
To complete a family, you need at least 6 members from the same family. With this game, participants will also practice the "have you got" structure in English.
